DIY Pet Treats – Cats
Most of us know that you can make homemade treats for dogs, but did you know that you could also make DIY cat treats? These healthy cat treats contain plenty of flavors and nutritional goodness.
You’ll need:• ½ cup whole wheat flour• ½ cup powdered milk• ½ cup oil-packed tuna• 1 egg• ¼ cup water
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine the flour and milk in one bowl. In another, mash the tuna with the egg. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ones. Mix them together, adding a spoonful of water at a time until a sticky dough forms.
Drop small spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake the healthy cat treats for 20 to 25 minutes.
Peanut Butter DIY Dog Treats
Making these doggone delicious treats is even easier than baking peanut butter cookies and just as tasty (for your dog).
You’ll need:• 2 cups whole wheat flour• 1 tablespoon baking powder• 1 cup peanut butter• 1 cup skim milk
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the peanut butter and milk. Then, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ones. Mix with a wooden spoon, using your hands to knead the dough as it comes together.
Place a sheet of parchment paper on the counter. Then, place the dough on top of it. Cover it with another piece of parchment paper, and roll it out to ¼-inch thick. You can cut it into squares with a sharp knife or pizza cutter or use a bone-shaped cookie cutter.
If you’d like to make them look just like cookies, roll them into 1-inch balls before flattening them with a fork. These treats are safe for humans to eat, but they’re not very sweet.
Bake the DIY pet treats for 20 minutes.
