If you’ve ever wondered why your pets are so different despite being raised in similar ways and in the same home – this article might give you some insight!

Zodiac Signs and Personality Types in Pets

The zodiacs for animals are the same as for humans – but the characteristics might manifest in different ways for our furry friends. Let’s dive right in to what the different signs are like.

Aries: March 21 – April 20

Aries is a fire sign represented by the ram. Ruled by the planet Mars, Aries signs are notably passionate, driven, and courageous. It is also often characterized by impatience and energy. This perfect storm of traits will often lead to a headstrong and audacious pet. Being almost too brave, pets of this sign might proceed without caution and explore fearlessly. This can also mean they might test their limits, push back on training, and have alpha personality traits.

If you have the energy, pets under this sign can be the perfect playmate – but they definitely will want to be active, entertained, and occupied. They won’t want to rest for too long and can be the perfect fit if you love long walks, playing outside, and fetch!

Taurus: April 21 – May 20

Ruled by Venus, Taurus is an earth sign represented by the bull. Having lots of willpower, they know what they want and when they want it. They can be very affectionate but only when it suits them! Pets with this sign are likely to be easy-going and rather calm and probably will love a nice plush bed for naps. Like all pets, they need to be active, but you will definitely see your furry family member lounging when they get the chance!

Because of their agreeable and calm nature, Taurus pets make great family pets and fit well in more relaxed environments. They can get stressed easily and might be sensitive to too much excitement. If you want a sweet and laid-back companion who knows what they like – a Taurus pet might be perfect for you!

Gemini: May 21 – June 20

An air sign ruled by the planet Mercury, Geminis are playful attention lovers. Their sign being the twins is telling; Gemini pets will often have two sides to them. One side loves affection, time spent with you, and playing, but inversely a side likes alone time. They are both extroverted and introverted. If you’re a Gemini pet owner, you might have noticed that they are great communicators! They like to express how they’re feeling – whatever it may be – and can be pretty vocal.

Gemini pets do best with routine. When they are in an energetic mood, they can get frustrated if that energy isn’t matched. Brilliant but unpredictable, they require extra training attention and are prone to separation anxiety.

Cancer: June 21 – July 20

A water sign ruled by the Moon, Cancers are sensitive, emotionally intelligent, and affection lovers. Represented by the crab, Cancer pets are intuitive and like to feel like a part of the family. Due to their sensitive and emotional predisposition, they might need extra love to stay assured that they are being cared for.

Because Cancer pets are very in tune with how they feel, it can cause mood swings. They might feel offended being left alone while the rest of the family leaves because they see themselves as an integral part of your clan! Sweet-mannered and large-hearted Cancers are great pets for families.

Leo: July 21 – August 20

The Leo sign is a lion fire sign ruled by the Sun. Like the Sun, they prefer to be the center of whatever is happening and are not afraid to express this! They will always try to show off, full of energy and a craving for recognition. A mixture of bravery and loyalty make these pets great companions who will stick with you until the bitter end – even if they force you to give them the spotlight whenever they can!

Being one of the most loyal but predisposed to “diva-like” features, you will definitely get a prominent personality with any Leo pet. Ready to play with you and wanting to be by your side, Leo pets will make a great addition to your life!

Virgo: August 21 – September 20

The virgin sign, Virgo, is an earth sign ruled by the planet Mercury. Since Mercury is the planet of intelligence, Virgo pets are sure to be smart. They are notably calm but determined. Interestingly, Virgo pets prioritize cleaning themselves and their space. Appreciating order, they enjoy consistent home life. With a relaxed nature and a craving for love, they make great companions and do well in stressful situations.

Virgo pets rely heavily on routine. Even though they will always be by your side, consistent schedules are essential to keeping them happy. Their predisposition to staying clean and collected makes them relatively low-maintenance pets.

Libra: September 21 – October 20

An air sign ruled by the planet Venus and represented by the scales, these pets highly value strong companionship. Easily distracted and short-attention-spanned training, these pets can take patience. They do better with a softer training approach. They are sensitive but intuitive, so they appreciate attention and cuddles. Very emotionally intelligent, they will often pick up on your feelings.

Due to their smarts and constant want for love, they might not be the best pet for a chaotic environment. Libra pets rely on structure, knowing you’re coming home to give scratches at the end of the day and being close to you.

Scorpio: October 21 – November 20

A water sign ruled by Pluto, Scorpio signs are represented by the scorpion. Interestingly independent but also valuing companionship, Scorpio pets like to explore at their own discretion. Still, they will always come back to you. Emotional and resilient, they will always work to get what they want. Their stubborn nature means they will not soon forget if they’ve been wronged and might need extra training time.

Scorpio pets are loyal but independent and value their relationship with their owner. They enjoy routine and might want things their way. Exercise and activity are an excellent outlet for Scorpio pets to stay stress-free and content!

Sagittarius: November 21 – December 20

A fire sign ruled by the planet Jupiter, Sagittarius signs are represented by the Archer. Curious-natured, affection-lovers, and energetic – Sagittarius pets crave adventure. They are outgoing lovers who love to spend time outside exploring. Valuing companionship, Sagitarrius pets will be happiest when you’re around – and they’re always ready for a challenge! Optimistic and happy, they will be content doing just about anything in the outdoors.

Sagittarius pets make fantastic adventure buddies and will love being around you. But with that said, being apart from you can cause them to feel anxious. Although they don’t need a rigorous routine, being with you as much as possible will keep them happy.

Capricorn: December 21 – January 20

Represented by the goat, this earth sign is ruled by the planet Saturn. Grounded, calm, and slow-paced, these pets are laid-back furry friends. They are energetic, hard-working, and stable pets who like to run around. Their consistent and self-reliant nature makes training an easy task. Persistent and intelligent, they will let you know what they want and will probably bug you until they get it.

Capricorn pets are great for people who are active but enjoy a serene companion. They might not welcome new furry additions and would probably prefer to be the sole animal in your home. If not, they will adjust, but it may happen on their own schedule!

Aquarius: January 21 – February 20

The water bearer sign ruled by the planet Uranus, this air sign boasts being the most intelligent of all the signs. You might often catch your Aquarius pet playing by itself, exploring places, and trying new things in their own world. Social but not the biggest cuddlers, Aquarius pets have notably unique personalities. They have a lot of love to give, but it might show itself in funny behaviors!

Aquarius pet’s inquisitive nature makes them a great pet sibling to any other animals you may have at home – even though your other pets might not know how to handle their peculiar behavior! Guaranteed to give you some laughs, Aquarius pets make great and entertaining companions.

Pisces: February 20 – March 20

A fish and air sign, Pisces, are ruled by the planet Jupiter. These pets are a chameleon of the zodiac and will often display multiple characteristics at any given time! Notably emotionally intelligent, they can easily read your emotions and their own. This makes them sweet and loving pets who will be there to cheer you up. Not aggressive but rather kind, Pisces are independent pets who like to cuddle after exploring!

Pisces pets are disposed to getting stressed and prefer to live in a peaceful environment without too much disruption. They enjoy their quiet time, and it is good to have a personal space for them to escape in your home. Lovers who will know when you need extra cuddles – they make great family members!

Whatever sign your pet is, their personality is definitely highly unique and special. Try to see if you notice any of these traits in your furry four-legged family member based on their zodiac!
