Here’s what you need to know about some differentiators between these two providers’ plans. 

  1. Healthy Paws Pet Insurance plans do not cover vet exam fees for covered conditions, but Spot plans do. 
  2. Healthy Paws insurance plans don’t cover your pet’s Rx foods or supplements that are used to treat a covered condition.  
  3. Healthy Paws Pet Insurance plans do not cover behavioral problems. 
  4. Healthy Paws doesn’t offer a 10 percent multi-pet discount for  additional pets.

  2. With Spot Pet Insurance plans, you can get your dog’s or cat’s exam fees for eligible conditions covered? Spot plans cover Rx foods and supplements for eligible conditions

Both Spot plans and Healthy Paws plans cover prescription medications used to treat covered conditions, but Healthy Paws plans do not cover Rx foods or supplements used to treat covered conditions.  Plans provided by Spot cover Rx foods and supplements used to treat eligible conditions (as long as a food or supplement is prescribed to treat an eligible condition and not for general health or weight maintenance).

    3. Spot plans cover behavioral problems. 

Spot Pet Insurance accident & illness plans include coverage for behavioral problems.  

    4. If you enroll more than one pet, you get a discount with Spot Plans.
