What Does Cat Insurance Cover?
We hear that curiosity kills the cat, but not on our watch! SPOT On Coverage takes care of the cost of accidental injuries like bites, cuts, broken bones, lodged foreign objects and ingested toxins.
Submit claims to be reimbursed for the cost of vet visits for major and minor illnesses like cancer, upper respiratory infections, worms, and immunodeficiency viruses. SPOT On Coverage also covers the exam fees, which not all insurances do.
Just like people, cats can inherit conditions and birth defects like heart disease, IVDD, and eye disorders. Our accident and illness coverage helps with the cost of visits to address related problems.
Chronic conditions require ongoing care across plan periods, such as diabetes and cancer. With SPOT On Coverage, your cat can still be eligible for coverage even with chronic conditions.
Wait… there’s more!
range of physical and mental conditions in cats. Some popular therapies include:

SPOT On Coverage can reimburse you for alternative therapies that your cat may need for a covered condition.
Our accident and illness plans can help cover the cost of veterinary visits for concerning behaviors. You could be reimbursed when you see an approved animal behavior professional for some common conditions in your cat, such as:
- Excessive licking
- Fur Pulling
- Destruction of the home

What's Not Covered?
Like all pet insurance providers, we have exclusions.
Pre-existing Conditions (?)
No pet insurance provider covers pre-existing conditions, which are conditions that occur before coverage begins or during a waiting period. However, we will no longer consider a condition to be pre-existing if it has been cured and free of symptoms and treatment for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. If a knee or ligament condition occurs before the coverage effective date or during a waiting period, any future ones won’t be covered.
Our plans do not cover elective procedures, such as tail docking, ear cropping, and claw removal.
Our plans do not cover costs associated with breeding or pregnancy.
Coverage for preventive care, like annual wellness exams, vaccines, and screenings, is not included in this plan. You can add preventive care coverage for a little more per month after you select your base plan.
